Testimony concerning the Son of God

If we receive human testimony, the testimony of God is greater; for this is the testimony of God that he has testified to his Son. Those who believe in the Son of God have the testimony in their hearts. Those who do not believe in God have made him a liar by not believing in the testimony that God has given concerning his Son. And this is the testimony: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. (1 John 5:9-12, NRSV)

Everyone who believes in God has His testimony in their hearts. And if you don’t believe in God when He has put His testimony in our hearts. And if you do not have the Son you do not have life.

We get the eternal life through the testimony God has placed in our hearts and life gives us His love. Enough love to share and always have enough.

Testimony concerning the Son of God

This is the one who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ, not with the water only but with the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one that testifies, for the Spirit is the truth. There are three that testify: the Spirit and the water and the blood, and these three agree. (1 John 5:6-8, NRSV)

There are three that testify to Jesus, and one of them is the Spirit and the Spirit is the truth. And these three will always agree.

Jesus is the one who came into the world to save the world, through water and blood.

Jesus is the truth and the Spirit is the truth. And He came to save us all.

The World’s Hatred

”If the world hates you, be aware that it hated me before it hated you. If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own. Because you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world—therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you, ‘Servants are not greater than their master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you; if they kept my word, they will keep yours also. But they will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.Whoever hates me hates my Father also. If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not have sin. But now they have seen and hated both me and my Father. It was to fulfill the word that is written in their law, ‘They hated me without a cause.’ ”When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father, he will testify on my behalf. You also are to testify because you have been with me from the beginning.” I have said these things to you to keep you from stumbling. They will put you out of the synagogues. Indeed, an hour is coming when those who kill you will think that by doing so they are offering worship to God. And they will do this because they have not known the Father or me. But I have said these things to you so that when their hour comes you may remember that I told you about them. (John 15:18-16:4a, NRSV)

You are to testify to the truth. And know in speaking the truth there will be those that hate you because of your testimony to Jesus. But Jesus has called us and sends us to testify.

He has sent us into the world to tell the truth if His love for all the world. And because the world hated Him, we will also see hatred. But be of good cheer for He is always with us.

We belong to God and He is always with us. So go knowing it won’t be easy, but also knowing that you do not go alone.

The Promise of the Holy Spirit

”If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever. This is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, because he abides with you, and he will be in you. ”I will not leave you orphaned; I am coming to you. In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me; because I live, you also will live. On that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. They who have my commandments and keep them are those who love me; and those who love me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them and reveal myself to them.” Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, how is it that you will reveal yourself to us, and not to the world?” Jesus answered him, “Those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. Whoever does not love me does not keep my words; and the word that you hear is not mine, but is from the Father who sent me. ” I have said these things to you while I am still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid. You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I am coming to you.’ If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I. And now I have told you this before it occurs, so that when it does occur, you may believe. I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no power over me; but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us be on our way. (John 14:15-31, NRSV)

I am going away but I will never leave you.

Jesus promised that the Spirit of Truth would come and live in every person who listened to God and did what He told them to do.

We are not to be troubled or fearful of heart for God will always be with us!

Rejoice that Jesus returned to the Father and the Spirit of Truth came to us. And know that we will never be alone.

Rivers of Living Water

On the last day of the festival, the great day, while Jesus was standing there, he cried out, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me, and let the one who believes in me drink. As the scripture has said, ‘Out of the believer’s heart shall flow rivers of living water.’” Now he said this about the Spirit, which believers in him were to receive; for as yet there was no Spirit, because Jesus was not yet glorified. (John 7:37-39, NRSV)

Have you ever been really thirsty? Like you would drink water out of a mud puddle kind of thirsty?

Jesus said out of believer’s hearts would flow living water, and whomever drank this living water would never be thirsty.

Jesus will or has given us the Spirit and through the Spirit we are connected to God and through us God’s grace and mercy flows as a never-ending river.

Allow God to spray the world through you!

God the Creator and Provider

These all look to you to give them their food in due season; when you give to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are filled with good things. When you hide your face, they are dismayed; when you take away their breath, they die and return to their dust. When you send forth your spirit, they are created; and you renew the face of the ground. (Psalm 104:27-30, NRSV)

When you send forth your Spirit, they are created and the face of the earth is renewed!

Your Spirit brings us your power and life.

It is our breath!
